Ashley Miers Releases "Under the Bridge" Song/Video to Raise Money for CORE / LA Fire Relief, Pays Tribute to the Red Hot Chili Peppers

Singer-songwriter and mental health advocate Ashley Miers has released a poignant and heartfelt music video for her rendition of “Under the Bridge,” a tribute both to Los Angeles and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The video, which debuted on January 14, 2025, has already racked up over 22,000 views on YouTube in just one week. It aims to raise awareness and funds for wildfire relief efforts through CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort), the same organization Paris Hilton is supporting and matching donated funds up to $100,000. The YouTube video description includes a donation link to support families affected by the devastating wildfires that ravaged Los Angeles in early January.

The song itself will be available on all major streaming platforms starting on Valentine’s Day — February 14, 2025. Fans can get the track here.

A Love Letter to Los Angeles

“Under the Bridge” is an iconic, powerful, and soulful song originally written and performed by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It expresses reverence for Los Angeles—the City of Angels—while meditating on themes of loss, connection, and recovery. Ashley’s reimagined version serves as both a tribute to the band and the city that has shaped her life and artistry for 17 years.

“This project is deeply personal for me,” shared Ashley. “Los Angeles has been my home for nearly two decades. This city and its creative spirit have been integral to my journey, and I wanted to honor that while also giving back during such a critical time.  Furthermore, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have been a pivotal influence in terms of both my artistry and mental health recovery, so it only felt fitting that my rendition of this song be put to service aiding a healing endeavor.”

The music video, inspired by the original visuals featuring Anthony Kiedis walking through Los Angeles, explores unique and less mainstream areas of the city, such as the Silverlake neighborhood and the LA River. It highlights the underground artistry and graffiti that communicate messages of hope, connection, and resilience—a testament to the unbreakable spirit of Angelenos.

Raising Funds for CORE and Wildfire Relief

The recent wildfires in Los Angeles have destroyed thousands of homes, displaced countless families, and forever altered communities. Compelled to action by the devastation and inspired by CORE’s impactful work, Ashley decided to use her platform to support relief efforts. CORE’s initiatives include distributing cash vouchers, providing N95 masks, and assisting local shelters while working toward long-term recovery, including rebuilding homes and offering case management support for displaced families.

“As a mom of three little boys, I know firsthand the fear and challenges of protecting your family in situations like this,” said Ashley. “Our house was invaded by smoke from the Eaton fire on the morning of Wednesday, January 8, and we departed the city until the immediate danger abated.  My heart goes out to everyone affected, especially those who did not have the means to evacuate or have a home still standing to return to, and I hope this project can make a meaningful difference in supporting Los Angeles families and wildfire relief efforts overall.”
